Zusammenfassung

Der Fuß ist aufgrund seiner topographischen Lage im Endstromgebiet der Blutversorgung und an den Endaufzweigungen der längsten Nervenbahnen des menschlichen Körpers sowie als Last tragendes Organ augenfälliger Manifestationsort zahlreicher systemischer Erkrankungen. Für die Behandlung von Verletzungen des Fußes ist die Kenntnis der zugrunde liegenden Prozesse sowie der sich daraus ergebenden Konsequenzen für den Heilverlauf von größter Bedeutung, da bei der Nichtbeachtung der Grunderkrankungen ausschließlich am Verletzungsmuster ausgerichtete Therapien komplikationsträchtige Verläufe nach sich ziehen. Kapitel 7 behandelt pathologische Frakturen und Deformitäten bei hereditäterer, diabetogener und idiopathischer Neuropathie, Vaskulopathie, Erkrankungen des rheumatischen Formenkreises, Stoffwechselerkrankungen und Tumoren des Fußes sowie ausgewählte posttraumatische Syndrome.
