Abstract
The discovery of the Galactic Bar Population is reported from a detailed analysis of the OGLE star counts (Paczyński et al. 1994) in Baaders Window (1°.0, 3°.9). A better agreement between the observed and the simulated star counts is obtained through the introduction of the ‘bar’ population, which has an age in the range 8–9 Gyr and a metallicity between 0.005 < Z < 0.030.
