Named in memory of the French composer Charles Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921), whose extensive musical creations ranged from church music to neo-classicism. Among his best known works are the symphonic poem La danse macabre, the opera Samson and Delilah and his third organ symphony. (M 20524)
