Measuring the Skin

Abstract

A variety of biometrological methods have been designed for exploring the functional activities of eccrine and apocrine sweat glands. Eccrine sweat assessments encompass the gravimetric method, water evaporation quantifications, staining procedures, casting methods, and electrometric assessments including skin capacitance mapping/imaging. Apocrine sweat excretion can be collected by individual gland cannulation. Chromatographic analysis of malodor and microflora identification and quantification are possible.
