Abstract

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory disorder involving small or large intestines, or both. Long-standing inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract may predispose to intestinal malignancy. Carcinoma of the intestine is often considered in the differential of patients with typical and atypical presentations of a Crohn’s flare. When malignancy is included in the differential, appropriate testing should be performed early on to make an accurate and timely diagnosis.
