Abstract
The comprehensive benchmark study reported in this STAR revealed various new insights in the reliability and accuracy of medium to long term model predictions for chloride ingress into the concrete cover. General conclusions are subdivided into some general benchmark observations followed by a number of conclusions drawn for the Marine submerged and the Road sprayed cases. From this a few suggestions for calibration are reported indicating particular issues that could be considered whenever developing a calibration method. Finally, an outlook and recommendations are provided addressing ideas and possibilities for future work on benchmarking chloride ingress modelling.
