Abstract
The development of nanotechnologies in many different scientific fields and social activities raises many different ethical issues and regulatory challenges that need to be addressed at an early stage to prevent adverse impacts and to profit from potential benefits. Nanoethics is the field of ethics applied to nanotechnology that promotes ethical reflection on and addresses the implications of science and technology at the nanoscale.
