Abstract

In this paper is presented a CAD design and the CFD study of the air heat exchanger. In the first part of the paper are presented the actual studies of CFD simulation with dedicated software. In the second part of the paper the CAD geometry of the air heat exchanger is modelled. The CFD analysis of the intercooler is done by applying the different flow parameters of the fluid the base geometries. After viewing the simulation results, a new model of the heat exchanger is proposed in order to uniformize the airflow distribution and temperature. The improved model is simulated at the same condition like the base model. In the final part of the paper is presented the comparative study between these two heat exchanger models and the conclusions regarding this CFD study.
