  • Chapter
Clinical Psychopathology Nomenclature and Classification

Abstract

In this presentation, I shall trace the history and development of the Present State Examination (P.S.E.) from its early beginnings in the 1960’s to the present day. The present position is that it is used in many different countries for surveys of both patients and community subjects. It has now been translated into over twenty different languages and obviously fulfills a need which is widley felt. I shall finish by mentioning very briefly the prospects for the next edition of the interview, P.S.E.10.
