Water, Electrolyte and Acid-Base Disturbances in Acute Renal Failure

  • Chapter
Acute Renal Failure

Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 212))

Abstract

A complete anuria(a few milliliters of urine in 24 hrs) is rare in ARF. It may occur in bilateral complete ureteral obstruction, in renal cortical necrosis, in acute glomerulonephritis and in bilateral renal artery occlusion(Andreucci et al., 1984).
