Abstract

For many years the thermal conductivity method of gas analysis of binary mixtures has been very popular. Recent improvements in the field of chromatography have led to the use of thermal conductivity for analysis of multicomponent mixtures. Using this system the mixture is passed through an adsorption column. On passing a carrier gas through the column, the components are recovered in sequence, being determined in turn by means of a suitably calibrated thermal conductivity cell.
