Abstract

The practice of colorectal surgery in infants and children is a highly detailed and technical field that requires training, experience, and insight into the unique pathophysiology and adaptive ability of this population. Almost all of the topics covered in this chapter will be dealt with in other sections of this text; however, the management of these issues will be tailored to children, highlighting the differences that exist between them and adults.
