Abstract

Construction of pick-up points is taken as a promising solution to the delivery bottleneck in China e-commerce logistics. The subject of this paper is applying the concept of collection and delivery point (CDP) which has been well developed in overseas markets in the past decade. Introduction and comparison of different types of pick-up point are proposed. Literature reviews of delivery via pick-up point are briefly summarized. Four investment patterns of CDP are introduced respectively in the view of theoretical research. Two different parcel delivery processes are designed according to solutions to failure of first home delivery. Finally, the paper gives some suggestions for implementation of CDP system.
