Abstract
SNOMED CT is the most comprehensive multilingual clinical healthcare terminology available. It is used in electronic health record systems to facilitate clinical documentation and reporting and to retrieve and analyze clinical data. For convenience in this book, we refer to SNOMED CT as simply SNOMED unless there is a risk of confusion with earlier versions.
