Abstract
In this paper we describe the technical and organizational solution that has been designed and implemented in Italy to deal with cadastral data management. The system, named “Sistema di Interscambio Catasto-Comuni“ (SICC), allows to exchange cadastral data among the principal entities interested in Italy to the treatment of cadastral information, that are Ministry of Finance, Municipalities, Notaries, and Certified Land Surveyors. The system is accessible nation-wide through a WEB-based interface since September 1998 and the effectiveness of its use is demonstrated by the sharp increase in the number of requests managed during the first months: in January 1999 it has been used by more than 15.000 end-users.
M.Talamo is the CEO of the Initiative for the Development of an IT Infrastructure for Inter-Organization Cooperation (namely, “Coordinamento dei Progetti Intersettoriali”) of AIPA - “Autorità per l’Informatica nella Pubblica Amministrazione”.
