The people and departments within the organization are linked to others by processes. Oakland (p. 14 defines a process as a transformation of inputs using actions, methods, and operations. Each process has at least one customer and one supplier. For example, a secretary can be considered an “internal” supplier to his/her principal who is the “internal” customer.
