Summary
By use of “influential diagnostic” statistics, we identify star observations that appear to have a disproportionate influence on the estimated model of the usual Paris Astrolabe reductions. We prove that these statistics may reveal the severity of remaining observational errors and detect some difficulties related to double stars and high magnitude stars.
