Eine Neubeschreibung der GattungEoeugnathus Brough, 1939 (Actinopterygii; Halecomorphi) aus der alpinen Mitteltrias Graubündens (Schweiz)

A revision of the genusEoeugnathus Brough, 1939 (Actinopterygii, Halecomorphi) from the Alpine Middle Triassic of Grisons (Switzerland)

Abstract

New material of the genusEoeugnathus BROUGH, 1939 (Actinopterygii) found during excavations within the Prosanto Formation (Alpine Middle Triassic, Ladinian, Can-ton of Grisons, Switzerland) is studied for a revision of the genus. The phylogenetic position of the genusEoeugnathus within the subdivision Halecomorphi is discussed. The morphological features indicate that the actual allocation to the Order Parasemionotiformes is uncertain and that there is a well supported relationship to the Halecomorphi section B sensu Grande & Bemis (1998).
