2023, Microbial PathogenesisThe ZtVf1 transcription factor regulates development and virulence in the foliar wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici
2017, Fungal Genetics and BiologyCitation Excerpt :Different parameters influence the functionality of transcription factors, and their participation in a particular signaling pathway is sometimes difficult to predict. During the last few decades, many genes involved in the pathogenesis of Z. tritici were characterized (Mehrabi et al., 2009; Mehrabi and Kema, 2006; Mehrabi et al., 2006a,b; Mirzadi Gohari et al., 2014; Zwiers and De Waard, 2000; Zwiers et al., 2003). These genes mainly belong to the family of signal transduction or transporters.
CDR4 is the major contributor to azole resistance among four Pdr5p-like ABC transporters in Neurospora crassa
2012, Fungal BiologyCitation Excerpt :For example, the transcription of ABC1 of Magnaporthe grisea, is dramatically induced by two azole compounds micoazole and metconazole (Urban et al. 1999). Similarly, the expression of MgAtr2 of Mycosphaerella graminicola is also induced by azole drug cyproconazole (Zwiers & De Waard 2000). These facts suggest that PMR1-like ABC transporters are functionally conserved in azole resistance.
Characterization of two ABC transporters from biocontrol and phytopathogenic Fusarium oxysporum
2008, Physiological and Molecular Plant PathologyCitation Excerpt :An ABC transporter was identified as a pathogenicity factor in Magnaporthe grisea (ABC1) [19], while another was not involved in pathogenicity [20]. Similarly, an ABC transporter from one strain of Mycosphaerella graminicola was involved in pathogenicity [21], while an ABC transporter was not needed for pathogenicity in another case [22]. This work was undertaken to further characterize F. oxysporum with emphasis on genetic diversity and regulation between pathogenic and biocontrol isolates of F. oxysporum.
