Abstract
New reactive monomers, bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-yloxyethyl acrylates, were prepared by esterification of monoethers derived from ethylene glycol and bicyclic alcohols with acrylic acid, using naphthalene-1,5-disulfonic acid as a new effective catalyst. The related propionates and isobutyrates were prepared by hydrogenation of these acrylates.
