The experienced pain-physician, Professor Steven Waldman has continued to improve his practical guide on physical diagnosis of pain conditions. With well-formulated text, high-quality illustrations, and in the eBook versions, real-time videos, he describes and illustrates methods for evaluating and diagnosing 240 pain-related conditions through their physical signs. Pain conditions and pain- related conditions from “top-to-toe” are covered: in the cervical spine, shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand, chest wall, thorax and thoracic spine, lumbar spine, abdominal wall and pelvis, hip, knee, ankle and foot.

This atlas is a valuable resource for all pain-practitioners. Not only trainees, but all experienced experts who try to help patients with pain, will benefit. Personally, I rediscovered and even discovered several for me new pain-conditions with specific physical signs and symptoms. The illustrations and the text give a precise and concise guide to “how-to-do-it”. Each chapter describing one pain condition follows the same concise format: anatomy, inspection, palpation, and range of motion, followed by relevant special tests.

This atlas should be in the department-libraries of all pain- clinics, departments of rheumatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, even neurology and neurosurgical departments should have a copy: Even better: down-load the eBook version and make it available to everybody in the clinic.
