Abstract
A Pt–Al–Cr–Ni–Re alloy is investigated in terms of microstructure and mechanical properties. This Pt-base alloy possesses a matrix/γ′-microstructure known from the nickel-base superalloys. Mechanical properties of the individual phases were investigated by means of nanoindentation. Hardness and modulus of elasticity for γ′ precipitates of this Pt-base alloy are of the same order of magnitude as for the single crystal Ni-base superalloys PWA 1484 and CMSX-4.
