Fully-resolved numerical simulations of the turbulent flow and particle deposition in a cubical cavity with two pairs of differentially heated opposed walls at Rayleigh number 3.6 × 109
2023, International Communications in Heat and Mass TransferTransport and wall surface deposition of airborne particles in enclosed, buoyancy-driven turbulent flows using fully-resolved numerical simulations
2022, International Communications in Heat and Mass TransferCitation Excerpt :The determination of the particle deposition rate on thermally active surfaces has been the subject of both experimental and numerical efforts [6–10]. The specific case for flows in rectangular cavities with differentially heated walls has attracted a considerable amount of attention [11–19]. Of particular interest is the work of Thatcher et al. [20] who used a cubical cavity of 1.22 m filled with air to determine the accumulation rate of particles for two different Rayleigh numbers.
