James Buchan argues that enrolled nurse conversion training is by far the most valuable and cost-efficient solution at a time of increasing staff shortages

What will be the staffing implications of phasing out enrolled nurse training? As Project 2000 is implemented, the numbers of training for the second level of the register are dwindling rapidly - down to 591 entrants in 1990, from a level ten times greater only five years before.
