The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and British Geriatrics Society (BGS) recently released a joint statement in support of the development of a new nursing role – the older people’s specialist nurse. This exciting initiative involves the RCN working in collaboration with the BGS and in partnership with Help the Aged (HTA) to explore the role of the older people’s specialist nurse and how it can contribute towards enhancing the care of older people.
