This experiment used albino rabbits as animal model to study the hair regrowth effect of 101 Hair Regrowth Liniment after topically applied to the skin of the belly of rabbits whose hair was shaved. Only one of the twelve rabbits grew hair simultaneously at the second day after treatment both on the skin applied with hair promotor and that applied with normal saline as controls. After 14 days the length of hair was about 80% of the normal hair length. But there was no hair regrowing phenomenon on theother eleven rabbits. The histopathological observation to the rabbit skin showed the microscopic structures of the hair follicles of both experimental and control skin were same. The number of hair follicles of unit skin area were 66.6±4.8/mm^2 and 63.3±6.4/mm^2 respectively. There was no significant difference (P＞0.05). The mean area of hair follicles in the experimental skin was 1358.6±121.7μm^2 which was not different from (P＞0.05) that of the control skin (1442.5±134.2μm^2). According to the experimental results, the 101 Hair Regrowth Liniment has not the effect of hair regrowth to the rabbit hair.
