青少年的獨處偏好與獨處能力:正念的調節效果

Solitude Preference and Ability To Be Alone in Adolescent: The Moderating Effect of Mindfulness

摘要


獨處能力可被視為一正向適應指標,但過去卻未曾有研究提及如何提升高、低獨處偏好者之獨處能力。目前研究對於獨處偏好與獨處能力之間的關連性為何尚無定論,且尚無實徵研究以國中生為研究對象同時探討獨處偏好與獨處能力之間的關係,因此本研究的首要目地在於檢視國中生的獨處偏好與獨處能力之間的關連。再者,研究者藉由整理正念能力的相關研究發現,強調覺察與注意的正念能力應能從認知與情感這兩方面來提升個體之獨處能力,據此研究者進一步假設國中生的正念能力在獨處偏好與獨處能力之間具有調節效果。本研究採用問卷調查法,參與者為167位桃園縣平鎮國中學生,依序填寫獨處偏好量表、正念能力量表與獨處能力量表。本研究除了以相關分析檢視獨處偏好、正念能力及獨處能力之間的關係,並進一步以多元迴歸分析正念能力於獨處偏好與獨處能力間的調節效果。相關分析的結果顯示,獨處偏好與獨處能力之間具有顯著的正相關,正念能力亦與獨處能力之問具有顯著的正相關。此外,在調節效果的檢驗中發現,正念能力能夠對七、八年級的國中生調節其獨處偏好與獨處能力之間的關連性,且高獨處偏好與高正念能力之組合會有最好的獨處能力。因此本研究結果支持正念能力於獨處偏好與獨處能力間確實扮演調節效果的重要角色,可以作為提升獨處偏好者獨處能力的介入方式之重要參考。

The ability to be alone is considered as a positive adaptation indicator. However, past research had never mentioned how those who prefer solitude to enhance the ability to be alone, neither did any research take junior high school students as subject. Therefore, the researcher focuses on the relationship between preference for solitude and the ability to be alone of adolescent. Moreover, the researcher finds out that mildfulness should improve the individual’s ability to be alone through cognition and emotion. To test the possibility, the present study investigates whether mildfulness moderates the relationship. 167 students from Taoyuan County Ping-Jhen Junior High School completed the Preference for Solitude Scale (PSS), Mindful Awareness Attention Scale (MAAS) and The Ability To Be Alone Scale. According to the analysis of correlation, there was a significant positive correlation between preference for solitude and the ability to be alone, so was mildfulness and the ability to be alone. In addition, the result of multiple regression showed that mildfulness moderates the relationship between preference for solitude and the ability to be alone of the seventh and eighth grade students. Adolescents with high preference for solitude have the highest ability to be alone when accompany with high mildfulness level. The present research demonstrated that mildfulness plays a crucial role in the relationship between preference for solitude and the ability to be alone.
