CAD is an important part in the phase of product development, such as style design, component model design. It is important obviously in electronic industry. However, the change of consumers’ preferences lead the product life cycle getting shortens quickly. Therefore, in order to gain orders and decrease the time for developing, we have to develop product quickly thus, if we can combine internet information technology with the product development design phase, and apply developed 3D module. It is a trend in the future to achieve systematized and electronic of product design by using past design knowledge. Nowadays, most of the electronic products just change their design in appearances to meet consumers’ preferences, such as computers, cell phones, stereos. However, even the size and manufacturing methods of the equipments is different, the internal components are fixed module. Therefore, this research integrate CAD and internet database as a direction of content. This research, design of internet database platform, is consisted of two parts: the first part is establishment of intranet database. It use Web server technology to set up Web site and integrate Access database application, and use Dreamweaver writing dynamic homepages, integrating the functions that business used, such as inquire and download 3D part code and working process. So that, users can update and renew the backward management on the web page, thus any R&D staff can apply to product development instantly. The second part is the application of web database that combine product development phase, and take the widest used computer assist design software, Pro/E, as the core of model. Then it takes relational database management system as the basis to construct this system. By integrating community model component of 3D module, standardize and E-Commerce of design procedures, create common module to unify of 3D part, it can save the reconstruct component model when developing the products. This research expects this system can shorten the time of development and also provide the specific construction and application methods for those related industries reference. The integrated of CAD and intranet database can be more flexible, effective and fit the real need, then increase the competitive strength of enterprises.
