Pansori is not only a form of music and literature but also performance. That is because Pansori consists of music, performance, and literary factors. As Pansori originated from folktales, became a form of series, and was developed as novels, various Korean traditional cultural features in the late Chosun Dynasty are described in Pansori. What is more, a variety of features of Korean traditional living culture, which can hardly be found in other old novels, are identified in Pansori, for Pansori arose as Minjoong art(popular art) and became highbrow art later. Therefore, Pansori is one of valuable and authentic materials which can be used in Korean class to teach Korean traditional culture because it portrays various daily living activities as well as clothing, food, and housing. This study aims to suggest how to teach Korean tradition culture by using Pansori in Korean teaching settings. With this purpose in mind, this article will attempt to define the concept of the traditional culture education from another spectrum and demonstrate how Pansori facilitate the traditional culture education in educational settings by suggest specific and practical teaching methods.
