A newly naturalized plant, Hibiscus panduriformis Burm. f. (Malvaceae), native to Australia, Africa and Asia, has recently been found in low elevations of central and southern Taiwan. In outline, H. panduriformis is similar to H. surattensis L. They are yellow petals with a dark red center, but differs in prick, stipules and epicalyx. A detailed description, line-drawings, photographs and geographic distribution are provided for identification of this species.
