Digital doorway: gaining library users through Wikipedia

This paper describes a project undertaken by staff at Macquarie University to utilise a Wikipedia template to provide easy access to library resources for students using Wikipedia. The template was added to Wikipedia pages which were relevant for the assignment the students had to complete. The response to the template and the resources it linked to were positive: students found resources they could use, and teaching staff noticed an improvement in the quality of the resources used by students.
