Application of Quality Control Circle in Reducing the Number of Drug Types in Unplanned Request of Our HospitalChinese Full Text

Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To reduce the number of absent drugs in ward pharmacy of our hospital and to ensure the supply of drugs in the clinic.METHODS:With "reduction of the number of drug types in unplanned request" as theme,quality control circle(QCC) activities were carried out in the ward pharmacy,and the number of drug types in unplanned request in the ward pharmacy were compared before(Jan.1st,2010-Jun.30th,2010) and after(Jul.1st,2010-Mar.31th,2011) QCC activities.RESULTS:The number of unplanned request drugs was reduced from 238 per month before QCC activities to 115 per month after QCC activities,and the range of improvement was 51.68%.CONCLUSION:The development of QCC activity promotes the reduction of the number of unplanned request drugs to guarantee the drug supply and improve medical service.
