This collection comprises the Digital Archive (images, reports and site records) from a programme of archaeological excavation undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology at Combe Cross, Filham in November and December, 2017.
Two adjacent, hollow-floored buildings of Middle Bronze Age date were recorded, of which the larger and more substantial example comprised stone-built walls enclosing a central hollow of 7.8m diameter. A sequence of internal fills included a dark occupation layer containing large, unabraded sherds of Trevisker type, which may be associated with activities related to the abandonment of the house.
The eastern building was smaller, and its irregular post-ring construction suggested a more temporary structure. A group of six pits was located within the 5.8m interval between the roundhouses, of which at least four comprised settings for a substantial post-built structure of square plan. Undated features included a length of ditch to the north of the western roundhouse, and a number of pits.
