Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological monitoring was undertaken on the site of the former Bull and Chain public house in Langworthgate, Lincoln as the final part of a programme of archaeological works. The Bull and Chain has been in existence on the current site since at least 1842, probably earlier, and 19th century maps show the site as part of the developed post-medieval frontage on the north side of Langworthgate. A medieval pit, a probable medieval surface and the footings of medieval to post-medieval stone walls were recorded. |
