Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken on Land off Louth Road, Ludford, Lincolnshire. The project was commissioned by the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council in order to monitor groundworks associated with the replacement of a culverted section of the River Bain as part of the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project. The monitoring and recording revealed a single ditch located at the northern end of the site. Although no dating was recovered from the feature it is likely to be associated with the Iron Age/Roman remains found directly to the north of the site. If so, it could form the southern boundary to the activity or part of a field boundary. No other features were revealed within the groundworks. |
