Abstract: |
An archaeological earthworks survey was carried out on land at Pear Tree Farm, Saltfleetby St Clement near Louth in Lincolnshire. The survey recorded two distinct areas of medieval ridge and furrow earthworks, probably representing discrete fields within a wider medieval agrarian landscape. These fields are characterised by ridge and furrow of differing intervals, separated by a possible boundary ditch, which now appears as a deeper furrow. The survey did not identify any evidence for domestic occupation such as closes or building platforms. |
