Flexibility and Extension of Learning Opportunities within the Lesson-Competition
Description
The article refers to the competition lesson as a type of non-traditional lesson and as an alternative to the classic one. We define the competition lesson and highlight its key characteristics as well as its subtypes, according to the aim pursued: lesson-competition for the assimilation of new content/knowledge, lesson-competition for the fixation/consolidation of assimilated skills and knowledge, or lesson-competition for the assessment of school results. We also dwell upon the procedure of conducting different subtypes of lessons-competition, offering a series of methodical suggestions, analyzes, and practical applications. Finally, the variables of the evaluation of the lesson-competition are presented.
