Optional Courses as Seen from the Perspective Competence Development

The article addresses the issue of the impact optional courses have in the development of students’ competences, including key competences. We put forward a tentative classification of optional subjects and highlight some aspects and recommendations regarding their planning and teaching-learning-assessment.
