Description

This is a Fortran module for the Weather Research and Forecasting atmospheric model (WRF; http://www.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users) to produce additional output variables for climate purposes. Mainly it consists in a series of new modules and modifications of the model code from which users obtain the variables specified in the guidelines for the ‘Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment’ (CORDEX, http://www.cordex.org/) of the World Climate Research Program (WRCP). Using the module, users can obtain: 'Core' mandatory variables, 'Tier1' and even a set of extra additional variables. Module adds new fields into the file with variables at pressure levels. Also it provides a new extra output file which contents the 'Core1', 'Tier1' and the additional variables. Some new variables are `generic' definitions which are independent of the model set-up aiming for a robust model intercomparison. Selection of some of the variables is done throughout the compilation via pre-compilation flags to minimize the resultant overload on model performance (down to 5% of additional time for Core variables).
