포털 뉴스 사이트의 한국 총선 유형변화: 개체명 인식을 적용한 포털 뉴스 이슈의 종단적 변화를 중심으로

본 연구는 17∼21대 총선 기간 동안 다음과 네이버 등 포털들이 정치뉴스 섹션에서 주요 이슈들을 어떻게 구성하였는지, 그리고 선거별로 이슈의 구성이 어떻게 변화하였는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 약 175만 건의 뉴스 기사들의 분석을 위해 본 연구에서는 개체명 인식을 통하여 주요인명, 조직, 지역명의 출현에 대한 시계열적인 변화 양상과 함께 다음과 네이버의 유사성과 차별성을 함께 확인하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 인명에 있어서는 현직 대통령의 노출 정도가 감소하는 반면 정치인이 아닌 인명들의 노출빈도가 증가하는 양상이 나타났다. 조직명과 관련해서는 정부기관의 노출비중이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는데 반하여 민간조직의 노출은 감소하는 대별적인 양상이 확인되었다. 지역명과 관련해서는 지역명과 지역 관련 장소명들의 노출 비중들이 꾸준히 줄어들면서 총선과정에서 지역적 이슈의 중요성이 감소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 두 포털의 비교분석 결과는 대체적으로 두 포털이 유사한 개체명들을 노출시킴으로써 의제설정상에 있어서 차별성을 확보하지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전체적으로 네이버에서는 상대적으로 낮은 여당 정치인들의 노출비중이 나타났으며 이에 반해 다음에서는 높은 노출비중경향성을 보이고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how Naver and Daum portals constructed major issues in their political news sections and how the composition of the issues changed from the 17th to 21th general election periods. In order to analyze about 1,750,000 news articles, this study, using Korean Named Entity Recognition and Classification method, tried to reveal changes in the appearance of major people, organizations and local names, and to identify the similarities and differences between Naver and Daum. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows. In the case of the name of persons, the incidence of incumbent presidents has been decreasing, the incidence of non – politicians increasing. Regarding the name of organizations, the proportion of exposure of government agencies has continuously increasing, while the exposure of civilian organizations decreasing. With regard to the name of the regions, the proportion of the local names and the names of the places related to the region has been steadily decreasing and this result indicates that the importance of regional issues has decreased in the general election processes. Finally, the comparative analysis results of the two portals showed that the two portals were not able to secure differentiation in the agenda setting by exposing similar entity names.
