ABSTRACT

The essential characteristic of psychological disaggregation is the formation within the mind of two groups of phenomena: one constituting the ordinary personality, and the other forming an abnormal personality, different from the first and completely unknown by it. Diminished hypnotic states and unilateral hallucinations of different characteristics for each side of the body are interesting psychological occurrences, which have in recent times been linked to cerebral duality. Mental disaggregation, the formation of successive and simultaneous personalities in the same individual, the automatic functioning of these various psychological groups isolated from each other – these are not artificial things, the bizarre result of experimental manipulation. The disaggregated element of thought has therefore already manifested itself in the complex phenomena, either by a phrase softly spoken and constantly repeated, or by hallucinations. It can manifest itself in many other ways and introduce the most diverse disorders into the physical and mental health of the conscious individual.
