ABSTRACT
In this final chapter, I tie together the book, noting how each chapter in this book has lifted back a layer of secrecy to reveal, in photographic and poetic form, aspects of life in aged care that are rarely discussed. The creative arts-based approaches presented in this book (the P3 method of using photovoice, documentary photography and research poetry) have invited us to rethink our assumptions about old age and aged care, providing rare and intimate insight into one of the most mysterious and feared institutions in our society: an aged care home. As our journeys all end similarly, I end with one final provocation: in your last weeks, months or years of life, would you be content to live and die in an aged care home?
