ABSTRACT

In this chapter, practicing architects, planners, policymakers, developers, and staff of non-profit organizations share their own perspective on climate adaptation and resilience in the built environment. These short interviews were conducted by phone in early 2020, audio recorded, transcribed, and then edited for length. With that being said, it is important to note that these are individual perspectives on practice and not official policy statements or representative of the organizations where the interviewees currently or formerly worked. Well, now 30-60 years later, authors go back and they look at buildings and they find that the permafrost is now below the pile system. In a lot of places in Arizona, they have such transient populations and they have populations that live very far from where they work because of growing inequalities.
