ABSTRACT

Youths are often engaged very differently to adults and this should be taken into account if we want to get their attention. In Social Work programmes geared toward youth, we might be using sports, arts and various other kinds of programmes as a platform to arrive at useful outcomes. Different organisations use programmes in various ways, depending on their contexts and stakeholders’ expectations. This chapter asks what the markers and cues are which a Solution Focused Practitioner might pay attention to during the programme design and execution, and which markers and cues make a programme design Solution Focused. In this chapter, we will be looking at various Solution Focused ideas and discover how we can apply it to the running and designing of youth programmes.
