Abstract

Microchrysa flaviventris (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Stratiomyidae: Sarginae), a species widespread in the Old World, is reported from North America for the first time. Apparently it is established in the eastern United States. Specimens were taken in Alexandria, Virginia in August 2007.
