Thrombus characterisation and evolution of HALT
Kajetan Grodecki, Raj R. Makkar, et al.
This study assessed the association between quantitative CTA features of HALT and its evolution over time in a real-world TAVI cohort. It found that lower thrombus attenuation, eccentricity, deformation, and implant canting were predictors of HALT resolution, and that thrombus volume changes correlated with changes in transvalvular gradients.

Early mechanical treatment of acute PE
Irene M. Lang
The content discusses the high mortality rates associated with acute vascular syndromes and the growing support for the use of timely mechanical treatments, particularly in acute myocardial infarction, stroke, and acute pulmonary embolism.

Early CBT in patients with PE
Orly Leiva, Sripal Bangalore, et al.
This retrospective study found that among patients with intermediate- or high-risk pulmonary embolism, early catheter-based therapy was associated with a lower risk of 90-day death and readmission compared to delayed therapy.

TAVI with CHIP
Tiffany Patterson, Benedict McDonaugh
The ASCoP registry examined outcomes of TAVI patients with concomitant or staged PCI. Concomitant PCI had higher rates of vascular complications and bleeding compared to staged PCI, with no difference in death or heart failure hospitalization.

Complex PCI and TAVI: the ASCoP registry
Claudio Montalto, Jacopo A. Oreglia et al.
In patients undergoing TAVI and complex/high-risk PCI, a concomitant strategy was associated with a higher rate of adverse events compared to a staged approach.

The age threshold for TAVI
Philippe Garot, Michael A. Borger, et al.
The content discusses the debate around lowering the age threshold for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) below 65 years, with pros and cons presented.

Invasive gradients versus pressure recovery
Michael Joner, Darren Mylotte
This study reports significantly lower echocardiography-derived gradients in self-expanding transcatheter aortic valves compared to balloon-expandable valves, while invasively measured gradients were similar, highlighting the pressure recovery phenomenon.
