고등학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 진로동기 간의 관계에서 그릿(grit)의 매개효과 검증

The Mediating Effect of Grit in the Relationship between Academic Self-efficacy and Career Motivation of High School Students

최근 고등학교 진로교육의 필요성에 대해 폭넓은 공감대가 형성됨에 따라, 고등학생의 진로에 대한 실증적 연구를 토대로 한 진로교육 방안 모색이 요구되고 있다. 이에 이 연구는 고등학생의 진로결정과 행동을 이끌어낼 수 있는 진로동기에 초점을 맞추고, 이를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제안하는 데 목적을 두었다. 문헌연구를 바탕으로 진로동기의 선행요인으로 학업적 자기효능감과 그릿(grit)을 선정하고 세 변인 간의 관계모형을 상정하였으며, 장기적인 목표를 위한 인내와 열정을 뜻하는 그릿이 학업적 자기효능감과 진로동기 간의 관계를 매개하는지 검증하였다. 경기도 소재 A고등학교 2학년 학생 231명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 구조방정식모형 분석으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 그릿은 진로동기 향상에 직접적으로 영향을 미쳤으며, 학업적 자기효능감은 그릿의 완전매개로 진로동기에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 진로동기를 강화하기 위하여 학업적 자기효능감과 그릿을 향상시킬 수 있는 이론적, 실천적 시사점을 논의하였다.

Recently there has been a broad consensus on the necessity of career education for high school students. In this context, this study aimed to propose methods to improve high school students` career motivation which leads their career decision and behavior. Academic self-efficacy and grit were chosen as predictors to career motivation based on the literature review, and this study was particularly interested in examining the mediation role of grit. A structural model was proposed to test the mediating effect of grit. Data were collected from 231 second grade students in “A” high school in Gyeonggi-do and analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results showed that grit had a direct effect on career motivation, and academic self-efficacy had an indirect effect on career motivation through grit which fully mediated the relationship between academic self-efficacy and career motivation. Based on the findings, how to facilitate self-efficacy and grit in theoretical and practical ways were discussed in order to improve career motivation.
