Abstract

The paper analyzes the current situation with the productivity of scientific work and the reproduction of scientific personnel in Russia on the basis of statistical data. It is shown that Russia has great opportunities for increasing the productivity of scientific activity, right up to entering the top 5 countries in the coming years for a given number of internationally presented publications. It is also shown that at present in the system of personnel reproduction there are problems associated with the difficulties of the demographic development of our country in the 1990s and early 2000s. At the same time, the inflow of foreign students and postgraduates to Russia has intensified. The author proposes a solution to the complex problems of the development of science in the country through bringing to a qualitatively new level of interaction between institutes and personnel of science, higher and secondary schools.
