본 연구는 러시아어 신체 관용구를 중심으로 인지언어학의 개념적 은유 유형인 존재론적 은유의 양상을 살펴보고 분석한 내용이다. 인지언어학적 관점에서의 신체 관용구 연구는 몸을 통해 이해하고 인지한 세상 경험을 언어 표현 속에 어떠한 개념 체계로 의미가 형성되었는지 설명해줄 수 있다. 존재론적 은유는 추상적인 개념을 구체적인 실재물로 이해하고 개념화하는 방식으로, 가장 많은 은유 표현들이 여기에 속한다. 은유의 유형은 그릇 은유, 물체 은유, 온도 은유, 끈 은유, 구멍 은유, 무기 은유로 분류하여 살펴보았으며, 각 근원영역 속에 동기화된 신체적 경험 및 기능과 특징들을 근간으로 목표영역의 속성들이 설명되어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구를 통해 은유의 보편성과 다양성을 어느 정도 설명할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 러시아어 학습자들에게 은유 표현을 습득하고 러시아인들의 사고방식을 이해하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다.

This study examines and analyzes aspects of ontological metaphor, a type of conceptual metaphor in the cognitive linguistics, focusing on Russian body idioms. The study of body idioms from a cognitive linguistic point can explain what conceptual system meaning is formed in language expressions of the world experience that is understood and recognized through the body. Ontological metaphor is a way to understand and conceptualize an abstract concept as a concrete entity, and the most metaphorical expressions belong to it. The types of metaphors were classified into bowl metaphor, object metaphor, temperature metaphor, string metaphor, hole metaphor, and weapon metaphor, and it was confirmed that the properties of the target domain were explained based on the synchronized physical experiences, functions, and features in each source domain. The target domain of the body parts most actively used in the idiom was to synchronize the invisible abstract concepts such as intellectual products and abilities, thinking and memory, utterances, possessions and influences, and emotions into concrete objects that could well understand. Research will be able to explain to some extent the universality and diversity of metaphors. It will also help learners of Russian language learn metaphorical expressions and understand how Russians think.
