On the neutron diffraction in crystals in the field of a sound wave

Abstract

Diffraction of neutrons in crystals under influence of a sound wave is considered. The probability of scattering of neutrons at the elastic interaction with the crystal is calculated. On the contrary, scattering of neutrons by an acoustical phonon has inelastic character. The possibility to control the Debye-Waller factor is shown.
